My Weekend With the 2025 INFINITI QX80

At Willis Automotive, one of the best parts of my job is getting to take home a different vehicle every weekend to test drive and experience in real life. This past weekend, I had the keys to the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80, and let me tell you, it turned heads everywhere I went.

Friday: First Impressions

I picked up my boyfriend’s family and we headed to dinner. Right away, they were blown away by the QX80’s luxurious interior. The sporty and modern design is elevated with leather accents throughout, even the doors, and the attention to detail is impossible to ignore. They thought the speakers in the headrests were one of the coolest features they’d ever seen, and the fact that both rows had massaging seats definitely impressed. Even the third row offers heated and ventilated seats, which is nearly unheard of.

Another standout feature is the large center console between the second-row captain’s chairs, giving backseat passengers their own space for drinks, storage, and more. With four USB ports back there, everyone had a place to charge their devices without fighting over cords. And when we arrived at the restaurant after dark, the illuminated INFINITI logo shining on the pavement was such a sleek touch. It didn’t go unnoticed.

Saturday: Shopping, Sunshine, and NASCAR

Saturday morning, I hit Jordan Creek for Iowa’s Tax-Free Weekend and scored some great finds. I had no problem loading everything into the massive trunk. There’s plenty of space for bags, boxes, or even suitcases for a weekend getaway. With how packed the parking lot was, I was especially thankful for the QX80’s camera system. Parking a full-size SUV can be intimidating, but the crystal-clear visuals and overhead view made it easy.

The weather was beautiful, so I opened the expansive sunroof to let the sunshine and fresh air pour in. Later in the day, I headed to the Xfinity NASCAR races at the Iowa Speedway in Newton with my coworker Isabella. The QX80 handled the highway like a dream, and the sound system made the drive even better. Whether it was music or directions from Apple Maps via Apple CarPlay, the audio quality was crystal clear. One feature that stood out: the ability for navigation, phone calls, or personal audio to play through the driver’s headrest speakers only, so passengers can relax, sleep, or enjoy different music without interruption. Genius.

After the race, the QX80 even showed me exactly where I had parked. It's a lifesaver when you're in a crowded venue. On the drive home, we explored the customizable ambient lighting features and added a fun vibe to the night ride.

Sunday: Errands and Unexpected Reactions

Sunday was a bit more laid-back with just some quick errands around town. I noticed the QX80's automatic air suspension adjusting the ride height as I parked, making getting in and out easier. At one stop, a Casey’s employee noticed the SUV and came out to check it out. He couldn’t believe how big it was or how advanced the tech looked inside. The sporty exterior styling definitely makes a statement, and the interior finishes sealed the deal.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 INFINITI QX80 blends luxury, technology, and comfort in a way that’s hard to beat. From the massage seats and headrest speakers to the spacious trunk and smart parking tech, it’s the kind of vehicle that makes everyday driving feel anything but ordinary. Whether you’re hauling family, friends, or shopping bags, this SUV can do it all, and look good doing it.
