Weekend with the 2025 MINI Convertible: Big Fun in a Small Package

This weekend, I got the chance to take home the 2025 MINI Convertible—and let me tell you, this little car is full of personality. It’s playful, punchy, and packed with smart features that made my weekend drives way more fun than usual.

Friday Night: Downtown Cruising
I kicked off the weekend with dinner at Blue Sushi downtown. Parallel parking is always a gamble in that area, but the MINI’s compact size and parking assist feature made it effortless. I slipped into a tight spot with zero stress—already winning.

Saturday Night: Sunset Watching
I drove up to Saylorville Dam with the top down to catch the sunset, and the vibe was perfect. The MINI’s interior lighting at night added a cool glow, and “Go-Kart Mode” made winding back roads more fun than they had any right to be. This car really knows how to turn a casual drive into an experience.

Sunday Funday: Top Down, All Around
Sunday was all about soaking in the sunshine. I spent the whole day driving with the top down, and apparently, everyone else loved it too—people were waving, smiling, even giving thumbs up at stoplights. This MINI is definitely a head-turner.

My roommate called it “so little and cute,” and it really is—but don’t let that fool you. It’s quick, fun, and surprisingly spacious. At one point, three of us squeezed into the back seats while parked for ice cream—and everyone fit comfortably! Later that night, I kept the top down and stayed warm thanks to the heated seats and steering wheel. Comfort and convertible driving? Yes, please.

Some standout features I loved:

  • Convertible Top Flexibility: You don’t have to go full convertible. I loved that I could crack the top open like a sunroof while driving.
‹
  • Lighting Details: The car projects a MINI logo on the ground when you lock it—such a fun touch.

  • Interior Mood Lighting: At night, the cabin has a soft ambient glow that makes the ride feel extra cozy.

  • Trunk Space: For such a compact car, the trunk impressed me. Plenty of room for a weekend’s worth of plans.

  • Easy Parking: Whether downtown or in tight lots, this car made every parking job a breeze.

  • Park Assist: Yes, it parks itself—and I’ll never get tired of that.

And if you're wondering, yes—this is the all-new model. MINI just refreshed the Convertible for 2025, and it shows. The rounded LED headlights and clean, modern styling give it a fresh face while still keeping that iconic MINI charm.

All in all, the 2025 MINI Convertible was a total hit with me and everyone I ran into this weekend. If you’re looking for a car that’s fun to drive, easy to live with, and makes a statement wherever it goes—this is it.
