Weekend with the 2025 Nissan Kicks SR

I took home the 2025 Nissan Kicks SR this weekend, and I was honestly surprised by how much personality this little SUV has. It’s stylish, practical, and packed with tech that makes daily driving feel easy and a little extra fun.

First Impressions

The Kicks has always been known as a great compact option, but the 2025 model feels totally refreshed. Sleeker lines, bold LED headlights, and the SR trim’s sporty accents make it look more confident than ever. It’s small enough to zip through traffic or snag tight parking spots downtown, but it still gives you that elevated, SUV-like view of the road.

Inside the Kicks

Once I got behind the wheel, I could immediately tell Nissan had upped its game with this new interior. The first thing you notice? The screens. The Kicks SR features dual 12.3-inch displays, which lend the cabin a modern, high-end vibe. Everything from your speed to your playlists is crisp, bright, and easy to read.

It’s also loaded with convenience features, including wireless Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and a wireless charging pad, which meant I didn’t have to mess with cords all weekend. The Zero Gravity seats live up to their name, too. They’re soft, supportive, and made even my longer drives feel relaxed.

Considering its compact size, the interior space is impressive. The cargo area is huge, way bigger than I expected. I actually took advantage of it and loaded up a bunch of stuff for a Goodwill drop-off. Everything fit with room to spare!

I also loved the large sunroof. It brings in tons of natural light, making the cabin feel even more open and spacious.

Out on the Road

The 2025 Kicks SR drives exactly how you want a city-friendly crossover to: smoothly, nimbly, and efficiently. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter engine that gives it just the right amount of pep without guzzling gas. Steering feels light, visibility is excellent, and it handles tight corners and parking lots with ease.

One of my favorite features was the Around View® Monitor, Nissan’s 360-degree camera system. It provides a full view of your surroundings when parking or backing up, and I found myself using it frequently. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you need until you have it.

Tech and Safety You’ll Actually Use

The Kicks SR doesn’t just look modern, it feels modern. You get Nissan Safety Shield® 360, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. It’s nice knowing the car is looking out for you, especially in busy traffic.

And for those colder Iowa mornings, you’ll love that the SR comes with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Those small touches go a long way during the winter months.

Final Thoughts

After spending the weekend with it, I think the 2025 Nissan Kicks SR hits a sweet spot. It’s stylish without trying too hard, packed with tech, and comfortable enough for both daily drives and weekend adventures.

If you’re looking for something that’s fun to drive, easy to park, and full of thoughtful features, the Kicks SR should definitely be on your test drive list. It’s proof that great things really do come in small packages.
